Breed Recognition

Obedience

In promoting responsible ownership, beginning in 2009, the AADR,LLC will be offering Obedience trials at some of our show events. (Clubs wishing to host these events must provide a fenced off area at their fairgrounds.)
We will be offering 3 levels of recognition that, upon completion, will be documented and titles awarded, within our registry.

O1

This is a basic level of obedience. The dog and handler must compete in 3 - 01 events under the review of 3 different judges. It will be held on lead and include the following:

Heel

Sit

Down

Stay

O2

This is an advanced level of Obedience. The dog and handler must compete in 2 - 02 events under the review of 2 different judges. It will be held off lead and faults will be applied.

O3

This is the Highest level of Obedience. The dog and handler must complete once in front of an AADR sanctioned judge. It is held off lead and is comprised of the following:

Heel

Sit

Down

Stay

After these are performed off lead then the handler must command in order:

Sit - Down - Stay

The handler must then march 50 feet from the dog while in the down and stay position. The handler must then call the dog to him/her with the dog returning to the heal position. Upon completing this task the handler and dog must complete a specified course in which they will be asked to walk through a crowd.

Upon completeing this course they will be awarded their O3 status and BH certificate to be able to compete in other working events (weight pull and treadmill race excluded) for the AADR,LLC.

Points and Faults

Each team will start out with 100 points per class. You must complete each stage with no less then 70 points. Faults will consist of:

Dog disobedience - Failure to handle given task - Aggressiveness towards humans (Immediate Disqualification) - Forging (walking in front of the handler) - Having to give commands more then twice. In the event that the handler choses to skip a task they will automatically be faulted 10 points. In O3 competition's the handler and dog must complete all phases of the event.
