Breed Recognition
NOTICE: We would like to officially acknowledge that The All American Dog Registry is no longer affiliated with it's founder T.L. Williams. The present leadership of the AADR would like to thank Mr. Williams for his vision and contribution towards the preservation of this amazing breed, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.  The AADR, LLC has a solemn commitment to upholding the rights of those who have put their trust in us. As we move forward into this new era of change, we stand firm together in our commitment to you by promoting responsible ownership of the American Pit Bull Terrier and the many legal activities for which it is used.

This website is currently under Re-construction. Please be patient with us as it will be done soon

The AADR, LLC has a mission of preservation -for the pure bred American Pit Bull Terrier, the recording and perpetuation of the accurate breed history, and the artifacts relative to the use and origins of the breed.

The All American Dog Registry, LLC is a legal entity that exists for the express purpose of registering, and recording the pedigrees of purebred dogs, and organizing conformation shows and weight pulling competitions held under the auspices of its officially recognized member clubs. As such, the AADR,LLC has a mission of preservation -for the pure bred American Pit Bull Terrier, the recording and perpetuation of the accurate breed history, and the artifacts relative to the use and origins of the breed.  Some of the services provided by the AADR,LLC are transfers of ownership, single dog  and litter registrations, and pedigree research. The AADR,LLC publishes a quarterly magazine called The “Bull – A – Ton” which features articles and editorials about breed history, civil liberties, and  the threat of animal rights extremism to responsible ownership, as well as general interest articles on health, husbandry and current events. The “Bull – A – Ton” also accepts classified advertising and public service announcements. The AADR,LLC is neither a law enforcement organization, nor a judicial body. Enforcing current laws and adjudicating the accused is the duty and responsibility of the officials hired by the government agencies in charge of providing these services to the public. We believe strongly in the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and that all cases should only be tried in a legitimate court of law, and not in the media or the court of public opinion. The AADR,LLC has no connection to law enforcement or the judicial
system at any level of government. We are not notified when someone is arrested for, or convicted of violating The Animal Welfare Act or any other law. In the case of civil disputes arising over legal business transactions involving the commerce of dogs registered with the AADR, LLC, we encourage our customers to proceed with appropriate legal action, and notify us of the outcome so that we may comply with any relevant court ruling. It is considered very rare that individuals who are involved in illicit dog fighting ever bother to register their dogs. If it were proven in court that a dog was used for illegal activities and said dog were to be registered with the AADR, LLC it is not our policy to rescind the registration of that dog or its offspring. The activity that a dog is used for has no bearing upon the validity of the dog’s registered pedigree and such activities fall outside the jurisdiction of the AADR, LLC or any other organized animal registry.

The AADR, LLC recorded pedigree of any dog is presumed to be accurate as submitted to the registry’s database by the party of record, unless challenged. An AADR, LLC pedigree is not a guarantee or warrantee, express or implied, as to the true genetic makeup of any individual dog. The AADR,LLC recommends that the public only purchase their dog from a reputable breeder.  It is not the policy of the AADR, LLC to dictate the type of breeding practices to be utilized in any breeding program. We provide education, information and a written ideal breed standard to encourage ethical and responsible breeding practices within our ranks. However, every dog owner retains the right to make the final decision as to whether or not to breed their dog, and the choice of which animal(s) to breed with it. Times may have drastically changed, but it was only a few generations back that almost all types of dogs were bred not for looks but for performance. The AADR, LLC  acknowledges that every pure bred American Pit Bull Terrier, (APBT) American Staffordshire Terrier (AST) or Staffordshire Bull Terrier (SBT) from common ancestors who were bred for activities
that modern society now considers distasteful. Depending on how far back you choose to go, these activities include but are not limited to: hunting, organized rat killing, badger baiting, catching and holding livestock to be butchered for human consumption, and dog (or even monkey) against dog wrestling contests. While human history often conjures up images that make us squirm, to refuse objectivity and deny the balanced presentation of the facts is dangerous, Worse yet, to conspire to censor the truth to fit one’s own personal beliefs is heinous, and to engage in the overt act of doing should be considered criminal. For better or worse, history is what it is, and it culminates in what we are and experience today.

Despite our constantly changing views of which canine activities are politically correct, the positive byproducts of performance bred dogs are numerous. Dogs bred for performance have an emphasis placed on substance over style. Breeding for qualities such as intelligence, trainability, stable temperament, the ability to focus despite distraction, structural soundness and the desire to please their human counterparts make it easy to transition the performance bred dog into a seemingly limitless variety of jobs that benefit mankind. Additionally, performance dog breeders have contributed volumes of information regarding canine health, training and behavior for the betterment of the species as a whole. Historical purpose of any breed not withstanding, genes are only the seeds of uncultivated potential, and do not predetermine behavior. The potential of breed related traits can only be realized through consistent training and reinforcement of the desired behavior. Therefore, the use and function of a dog’s ancestors will not affect the current use and function of the offspring, unless they are also trained for and consistently work at the same task. This is not the opinion of the AADR, LLC but the opinion of well respected researchers and court approved expert witnesses, based on years of documentation. The dog is a malleable creature, completely capable of forgiving human error and indiscretion. American Pit Bull Terriers that have been rescued from horrific circumstances have gone on to become successful United States Customs dogs, search and rescue dogs, Law Dogs trained to detect explosives and narcotics, therapy dogs and assistance dogs for people with special needs. The modern American Pit Bull Terrier as promoted by the AADR, LLC is an intelligent, people loving, athletic, robust dog with a healthy genetic makeup that is free of many of the congenital disorders which plague other breeds. Because they come in a wide
variety of colors and sizes, and because of their history of loyalty, versatility and devotion to family, the American Pit Bull Terrier has remained one of the most popular breeds in the United States. The American Pit Bull Terrier also enjoys a devoted international following.

Ironically, tax exempt groups that call themselves “humane” and “ethical” and who tout “kindness” as a mantra have positioned themselves as experts to promote the extinction of the performance bred American Pit Bull Terrier. The AADR, LLC is firmly opposed to the indiscriminate killing of any dog based solely on its breed or lineage, even the alleged use or misuse, without legitimate regard to the individual dog’s potential for training or rehabilitation, and the prospect of living a productive life in service to man, or a content existence in a loving home. The “dog of choice” for loving, intelligent,
responsible truth seekers everywhere; the AADR, LCC registered American Pit Bull Terrier is a national treasure – are you worthy?
